So you may well have seen one too many debaucherous episodes of MTV's finest and have the idea that Ayia Napa is a haven for youths, but let that pre-conceived idea be banished as I'm about to show you in this post, this place has far more to offer than its reputation might suggest. Like all good things, Ayia Napa is a town of balance. It has a vibrant night scene, but if you're a bit of a culture seeker, you will be right at home here. During my stay, I visited one of the town's developing attractions. Set away from the theme park, club strip and shops, Ayia Napa's sculpture park is set against the picturesque backdrop of the Mediterranean sea. The park has been made possible by some of the world's most prestigious artists who have been and still are invited to chip, chisel or build their perfect sculpture that will compliment and be in keeping with the park's aesthetic. We visited on a glorious sunny morning (honestly, in high season, you'd be stretched to wake up to a downpour in Cyprus, let's be honest) and these are some of my personal favourites.
I really liked the photo frame sculpture idea. It was modern, simple and effective. Plus the vista of the sea through it was amazing.
I always think that when visiting a place for a holiday, it's a fantastic bonus if you can incorporate a bit of sight seeing alongside the beach days! It's good knowing you're somewhere that has a backstory and a rich cultural element. Where was the last cultural hotspot you visited? Bilgi x
