Baking | Millionaire's $hortbread

I have been baking and I just wanted to share with you all some of the photographs which I have snapped of my latest baking creation, which is Millionaire's $hortbread! I know some of you will want to give this beauty a whirl yourself, so I am going to give you the secret recipe (ooooh!) so that you too can make this fabulously scrumptious baking masterpiece. Scroll on for more:-

Millionaire's $hortbread

To make this gorgeous cakey biscuity goodness, you will need:-

for the biscuity cakey base:
75g of margarine
60g of soft brown sugar
140g of self-raising flour
40g of rolled oats
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

for the caramel:
225g Carnation Condensed Milk
2 tablespoons of butter / margarine
2 tablespoons of soft brown sugar

for the topping:
100g of plain chocolate
40g of white chocolate

Mix all of the biscuit ingredients together and use your hands to make it into a ball. Then press it evenly into a greaseproof paper lined baking tray and bake in an oven at 180 degrees C for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

For the yummy caramel topping, very gently heat all the ingredients in a pan and once it is at a low boil, mix continuously for 3-4 minutes or until it is a caramel consistency. Then carefully spread it over the cooled base.

For the topping, melt the plain chocolate and spread it over the tray bake, then using a piping bag with a fine tipped nozzle, pipe lines onto the dark chocolate and then using a cocktail stick, make the pretty pattern by running it through the melted chocolate and ta dah! You've made a stunning batch of Millionaire's $hortbread!

If you want, you can scale up the recipe so hat you get a thicker base, layer of caramel or chocolate topping.

Let me know if you give this a go, I'd love to see your pictures!
