Cotswolds Distillery Classic Cloudy G&T with Zesty Pink Grapefruit & Bay Leaf

Valentine's Day is this Friday and to celebrate I've created a delightful cocktail with Cotswold Distillery's 'Cotswold Dry Gin'. This marvellous tipple has 10 times as many botanicals infused within it, so when ice or tonic is added, it transforms and turns cloudy! Magical or what?! Read on for the cocktail recipe and a bit about this wonderful artisan distillery too. Drink-spo awaits!...

A Bit About Cotswolds Distillery
Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, everything which the Cotswolds Distillery create has flavour and quality as the top priority above everything else. I have used their Cotswold Dry Gin to create this classic serve with refreshing pink grapefruit and a bay leaf for aroma. This is what Cotswold Distillery have to say about their gin:

"Distilled with nine carefully considered botanicals, our Cotswolds Dry Gin is a London Dry with an aromatic twist. We distil juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, local lavender, bay leaf, hand-peeled fresh lime and pink grapefruit zest, cardamom and black peppercorn in our copper pot still, resulting in a rich and robust, award-winning gin. We do not remove the essential oils in our gin as these create a rich flavour and mouthfeel. As a result, our gin forms a unique pearlescent cloud when ice or tonic is added, and it tastes delicious!"

Head of mixology at Cotswolds Distillery, Oliver Morris has some fabulous serving suggestions which you can read over on the website. I have used his classic serving suggestion of pink grapefruit and bay leaf with their Dry Gin as it adds to the refreshing nature and tastes truly sublime.

Recipe and how to as follows...

You'll Need:
2 shots of Cotswolds Distillery Cotswold Dry Gin
1 x Balloon Gin Glass
Ice cubes (I've used heart shaped ice!)
2 slices of pink grapefruit
A small segment to garnish
Sugar for the edge of the glass
1 x fresh bay leaf

How To Mix It Up
1. Start by adding the sugar and grapefruit segment to the glass' edge, 1 slice of grapefruit into the glass and follow with plenty of ice.

2. Add in the 2 shots of Cotswolds Distillery's Dry Gin. This is when the clouding will start to form!

3. Add the other slice of grapefruit and the bay leaf.

4. Top up with Indian tonic water.

5. Serve immediately. Cheers!

The cloudy effect is so effective and beautiful. It looks great when there's vibrant fruity garnishes in the drink too!
