Mother's Day Cocktails with 'Berry Good Drinks'

Hello everyone and welcome to another wonderful drinks feature. Today's cocktail collaboration is with the utterly divine Berry Good, who are artisan producers of gin liqueurs that are in a wide range of totally delectable flavours! As Mother's Day is quickly approaching, no doubt planning special treats to show how much you care is in order. Maybe you're the type to go on a cute day out or for a nice lunch together, or maybe you prefer a spa day and a beauty treatment. No matter what you choose, celebrating with a cocktail at some point throughout the day or in the evening is a great idea, especially when it mixed with something as scrumptious as Berry Good's Strawberry Gin Liqueur! I have mixed up this sumptuous fruity tipple with all the complimentary garnishes and the full cocktail recipe and 'how to' is below, so if you fancy crafting this for you and your Mum / Mother figure to enjoy, you can! So without further ado, let's jump right in!...

Berry Good: Gin Liqueurs But Not As You Know Them
Berry Good are no ordinary liqueur producers. Their finely crafted, artisan products are hand crafted and full of flavour. They use traditional infusion methods and grain neutral spirit, to create their drinks, resulting in a clean, fresh and true to the ingredients flavour that is unparalleled by other liqueurs that are produced on a large scale. It is the meticulous attention to detail and the craftsman ship that makes the Berry Good gin liqueurs truly spectacular.

The Flavours
~ Currently, Berry Good has 4 fruity flavours in their liqueur range ~
Raspberry Gin Liqueur
Strawberry Gin Liqueur
Blackcurrant Gin Liqueur
Rhubarb Gin Liqueur (NEW FLAVOUR!)

They also have a Cofaidh (which is Gaelic for coffee) Cold Brew Liqueur which is made with locally roasted beans - current batch is a dark, rich roast with a sumatra bean by Cairngorm Leaf and Bean.
The Story of Berry Good
Berry Good as first established in 2008 by Jill Brown whilst studying for a BSc in Rural Business Management and Agriculture at SAC Craibstone (now known as SRUC). She wanted to use the skills which she'd been taught on the course so set up Berry Good. With the products used in the liqueurs sourced locally and the whole production process followed and understood from 'plough to plate', Berry Good is a company who are true masters at what they do and know what you have to put in to yield award-winning results from the products which you produce. As they are based in the former Cathedral city of Elgin, this actually places Berry Good approximately twenty minutes away from their fruit supplier, Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm, Nairn. It is this being so close to the products that are used that helps to create a product with so much local and regional character, unlike anything else you can find. It's truly one off.

Zesty Berry, Lemon and Lime Twister
This is a fabulous gin cocktail, made using only the freshest citrus fruits and mint infused ice, along with Berry Good's Strawberry Gin Liqueur. It is a perfect Mother's Day serve as it is sweet yet zingy, with a unique flavour profile that satisfies both the need for sweetness and tang. Welcome to your new favourite tipple!

You will need:
1 x gin glass
an ice cube tray
cocktail mixer (optional)

Ingredients:
2 x shot of Berry Good Strawberry Gin Liqueur
some fresh raspberries
1 x sprig of fresh, aromatic mint
premium lemonade
4 shots of cranberry juice
4 slices of fresh lime
2 slices of fresh lemon
white sugar crystals for the edge of the glass

How To Mix:
1. Start by making up your ice cubes. I personally love a mint infused ice cube and to make them is really very simple. Simply add water or lemonade (using lemonade will prevent the flavour of the cocktail from being diluted at all.) into the ice cube tray and add a fresh mint leaf into each ice cube space. Place in the freezer and allow too freeze for a couple of hours.

2. Once the ice is set, you can begin the cocktail's assembly! Begin by carefully adorning the edge of the gin glass with the white sugar crystals. This is a beautiful decorative technique and it also adds a delicious touch of sweetness that will compliment the strawberry liqueur.

3. Now add in some of the slices of fresh zesty lemon and lime, as well as the raspberries. Add a lime slice to the edge of the glass as a garnish.

4. Add in plenty of the mint infused ice cubes.

5. Now add in the 2 shots of Strawberry Gin Liqueur and 4 shots of cranberry juice for that all important tang.

6. Add in any remaining citrus slices. Stir with a cocktail stirrer.

7. Top up generously with lemonade and serve up immediately. Enjoy!

~ Recipe can be doubled to make 2 cocktails ~

Super serves all round!
