These taste as good as they look! Well worth a weekend baking project if you are also a chocolate lover!
When baking brownies I do always like to make twice the volume as I find this helps them to be extra squishy and gooey like a good brownie should be. This recipe is therefor twice the volume that most will be but it works a treat!
You will need:
1 x mixing bowl
1 x wooden spoon
1 x non-stick pan
scales
baking parchment
Ingredients:
170g self-raising flour
5 free-range or organic eggs
80g Bourneville cocoa powder
375g golden caster sugar
300g milk chocolate
200g milk and white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
To decorate:
100g milk chocolate
white chocolate stars
1. Start off by cutting the butter into small cubes and place in the pan along with the milk chocolate also broken / chopped into small cubes.
2. Place on a very low heat and stir until completely melted and thoroughly combined.
3. In a separate bowl, add in the eggs and sugar and vanilla extract and whisk until light and fluffed up a bit.
4. Add the melted chocolate mixture once cooled to the eggy mixture and fold together with the chocolate chips.
5. Now gradually start adding in the flour and cocoa powder.
6. Once combined add the mix onto a lined baking tray and pop into the oven at 180 degrees centigrade for between 30-50mins. The goal is for the brownies to be squidgy still so don't overdo it!
7. Once baked, take the brownie tray out of the oven and allow them to cool.
8. Once cooled you can decorate them. Melt 100g milk chocolate on a low heat and then freestyle drizzle the brownie before adorning with white chocolate stars for added pizzazz!
9. If they're for a birthday then add a candle and let the birthday girl / boy make a wish!
So there you have my absolute favorite ever chocolate brownie recipe, perfect for any chocolate lover! Do let me know if you give these a whirl. You can tag me in your pictures on Instagram here. Baking love, Bilgi x
